The Torre de l’Aigua (water tower) is an octagonal structure, 50 m high, which was inaugurated in 1922 to raise the water extracted from the wells of the Ripoll river and distribute it across the city by gravity. It is an iconic work within the modernista movement and was the first building in the city to use reinforced concrete. Having fallen into disuse in 1967, it is now one of Sabadell’s signs of identity. From above, the tower offers a unique view of the city and the area of the River Ripoll.
