La Farga del Roquer. The Arbúcies River Visitor's Centre

La Farga del Roquer was built between 1846 and 1848, and worked as a copper forge until 1873. From then on until the early 1970s, the building and its hydraulic power system were used successively for tanning, turnery, sawing and producing vehicle bodies. The building and its hydraulic power system were restored, and now visitors can see how it runs, as well as watch the audiovisual display La memòria de l’aigua, (The Memory of Water) which explains the pre-industrial and industrial uses of the Arbúcies river throughout history.
