Casa Alegre de Sagrera was built at the start of the 19th century. It was considerably refurbished in 1911 to become the model of a bourgeois home in industrial Terrassa during the modernista period. It began to serve as a museum in 1973.

\ The first floor has preserved its original mural paintings. Some of the rooms are presented furnished and decorated, while others contain collections such as the Salvans collection of oriental art, or those of artists Martínez Lozano, Laureà Barrau, Mateu Avellaneda, Carlos Baca-Flor and Fèlix Mestres, and the legacy of the writers Agustí Bartra and Ferran Canyameres.
