Fragments of a statue in a toga, found in the area of the Roman Theatre of Tarragona. It must have formed part of the gallery of effigies of the Julio-Claudian dynasty located on the scaenae frons (the wall that enclosed the stage). It most likely depicts Claudius, the emperor who ruled between 41 and 54 AD. It seems to be sculpted from a pre-existing piece dedicated to Caligula, his predecessor, who had fallen out of favour.

Made of Luni-Carrera marble, it is missing the head and arms. It still conserves some remains of paint on the left foot.
