Terracota is located on the ground floor of La Galera Town Hall. Built in 1906.

Terracota was opened on 9 August 2004 and since then it has pursued its objectives of disseminating, preserving and raising awareness of the cultural heritage of La Galera’s potters. It is managed by La Galera Town Council.

The centre comprises an area devoted to the pottery and potters of La Galera and another for temporary exhibitions of paintings, photography, pottery, etc. This allows it to be culturally changing.

It is home to the Tourist Office and organises guided tours of the interpretation centre, the points of interest in the town and the only working pottery in La Galera and Montsià county. The centre also organises the La Galera Town Biennial Ceramic and Pottery Prize, participates in the organisation of the La Galera Pottery Fair, offers an educational dossier and story for primary schools and undertakes research and dissemination tasks through courses, talks, etc.
