In order to protect themselves from flooding from the lake, some of La Draga’s huts were raised above the ground by means of wooden pillars, which can still be found on the site. A visit to the Neolithic Park offers the chance to enter a reconstructed home raised up on a platform and to travel in time. Ceramics, skins, wooden tools and baskets fill the inside of the rectangular-shaped building with a plant roof. The discovery on the site of several bucrania from oxen, animals highly appreciated by the Neolithic people because of their capacity for work, suggests to archaeologists that they were used as decorations in some huts.
