The terraces

The Maricel Palace terraces.

The Maricel Palace terraces.

The gardens that were in the upper terraces of the palace led to the cloisters. We have little information about this area. In fact, only a few graphic documents have come down to us, nonetheless of great interest thanks to the amount of information theyprovide.

In the centre of the main terrace there was a pond with countless fountains, surrounded by plants and wooden architecture. This recalls Andalusian patios, with a clear Muslim influence, where water played an important role.
