The Museum of the Railway is part of an ambitious industrial archaeology project that also includes the introduction of a tourist steam train between the Costa Daurada and the inland counties of Tarragona and the establishment of a professional school of railway occupations.

At present visitors can enjoy a guided tour that includes the building, which has one of the earliest electromechanical station control systems in Europe; the 23-metre turntable and the old railway sheds, now a restoration workshop. The tour ends with a visit to the new tourist train sheds, where restoration work is being carried out on locomotives, railcars, carriages and wagons through which we can see the evolution of the railway over time. Among them is the 241F-2238, the only remaining high powered steam locomotive from Móra la Nova.
