Can Marfà is the exhibition space of the Museum of Mataró devoted to the knit fabric industry, the industrial activity that has brought uniqueness and identity to the city. It is located in one of the buildings of the former Marfà factory, the most important knit fabric factory in Spain before 1936.

From the architectural standpoint, it is a complex in the “Manchester” style built between 1880 and 1881. The first floor hosts the benchmark exhibition: Mataró, Capital of Knit Fabric, which develops the three museographic strand of the Museum of Mataró and is a thematic and chronological exhibition of the collections that the Jaume Vilaseca Foundation has revived and given to the city with the goal of preserving the memory of an industry that has suffered from the consequences of the textile crisis.

The ground floor hosts the programming of temporary exhibitions, the educational area and the event room, where activities and workshops on the history of industry, technology, design and fashion are held.
