The Leather Art Museum was opened in 1996. It houses the collection built up by the tanner from Vic, Andreu Colomer Munmany, a lover of art and of his trade, which led him to look for leather art objects.

The collection is showcased around a wide variety of objects made entirely or partially in leather: chests, screens, escritoires, chairs, saddles, shadow theatre figures, etc.

The works of great artistry are from different origins and times and demonstrate a wide variety of leatherwork techniques. Particularly noteworthy is the gold leather technique (golden and multicolour leather) used to make wall coverings, alter fronts, screens, etc. The cordovan application (very high-quality goat’s hide) also stands out in boxes and chests.
