The Girona History Museum is located in an old, stately building that has many a story to tell: it was witness to the first urban constructions of the Roman city; it was home to notable families during the splendour of the city’s medieval past; it experienced the vicissitudes and spiritual and material transformations of Baroque Girona; and it was the site of some of the substantial social, political, and cultural changes that have come with modern times. From its privileged location in the heart of the old quarter, and through its thematic rooms, multifaceted collections and unique spaces, the Museum tells the many and varied stories that have shaped Girona and shaped the lives of its people through the ages.
