Visit the different historical sites managed by the Cambrils Museum of History allows to discover another side to the town, one that has allowed it to become an important municipality in the area known as the Camp of Tarragona.

While there can be no doubt that tourism is the driving force behind the town’s economy, its unique identity is based on the territory’s traditional occupations. The different historical sites that have been prepared for visitors explain Cambrils’ fishing and agricultural roots from antiquity to the present day. Since prehistoric times many different peoples have passed through these eminently Mediterranean lands and some have settled here, allowing us to learn something of their cultures. All this can be seen in the five branches and monuments that make up the Cambrils Museum of History, as well as on the different itineraries and activities organised throughout the year with the participation of the town council, the Cambrils Agricultural Cooperative and the Centre for Cambrils Studies.

Inside this municipal building, the main branch of the Cambrils Museum of History, you can see two permanent exhibitions: “Cambrils: the origins” and “Molí de les Tres Eres: a Living Testimony to the Past”. The two-storey building retains the pond, the chute and the waterwheel cavity found in the flour mills that were operating until the beginning of the 20^th century. The mill was restored thanks to the joint efforts of the Centre for Cambrils Studies and the Cambrils Town Council, who sought out the resources needed to make the grindstones turn and produce flour once again. It has since become a benchmark of the cultural movement in the municipality.

Today the Molí de les Tres Eres building is shared by the museum, the Centre for Cambrils Studies and the Rovira i Virgili University “Knowledge Antenna” Campus Extension in Cambrils. This allows events including temporary exhibitions, workshops and talks to be programmed all year round.
