The Banyoles Regional Archaeology Museum is currently closed for renovations. It is scheduled to reopen in 2024.

The Banyoles Regional Archaeology Museum (MACB) has been open since 1933, when Banyoles town council founded it following the discovery of the Vilauba Roman Villa in 1932.

The MACB has a collection of important palaeontological discoveries (Late Tertiary-Quaternary period, 5-1 million years ago), as well as artefacts from human settlements in Pla de l'Estany from the Lower/Middle Paleolithic period (250,000 BC) to the 20th century. The Museum also houses the prehistoric collections of Pere Alsius Torrent (late 19th century) and Josep M. Corominas Planellas (1933-1973), and since 1975 the MACB has collected objects from more recent excavations in the region: the palaeontological site at Incarcal (Crespià), the Palaeolithic caves at Serinyà, the Neolithic settlement at La Draga (Banyoles), the Vilauba Roman villa (Camós) and the Roman ovens at Ermedàs (Cornellà de Terri), among many others.
