Housed in the former new prison building of Montblanc, the Rock Art Interpretation Centre (CIAR) was established to be a reference point in the study and conservation of prehistoric art in the Prades mountains, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1998. It also aims to be a reference point for promoting education and fostering awareness among the population.
\ \A visit to the CIAR begins with a short audiovisual projection, then continues with an itinerary through the rooms that immerses us in the world of rock art.
\ \The exhibition space contains an educational display with panels, dioramas, copies and life-size replicas of the rock faces with paintings found in the extensive geographical area of the mountains of Prades.
\ \The CIAR is part of the Rock Art Route of Catalonia, designed by the Archaeological Museum of Catalonia.
