Abrics de l'Ermita Rock Art Interpretation Centre

The rock art of the Godall Mountains was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1998. It is the most important Spanish Levantine rock art complex in Catalonia.

Some of these post-palaeolithic paintings are more than 8,000 years old. As most of the paintings are very difficult to reach, the Abrics de l'Ermita Rock Art Interpretation Centre was opened to allow visitors to learn about the artistic treasures hidden in these abrics or rock shelters.

The majority of the paintings discovered to date belong to the so-called Levantine art style. Only on the walls of the Cova Fosca/Rock Shelter IV do we find schematic-abstract figures.
