The Municipal Cemetery of Cardedeu (1919-1921), designed by the second-generation Art Nouveau architect MJ Raspall, is one of the most significant in Catalonia and an example of 19th-century funeraa architecture.

At the entrance, we find the family pantheon of the inventors of Cacaolat – the Viade family – crafted by the sculptor Enric Clarassó Daudi. Then, there are two symmetrically-placed groups of niches isolated with a porch. Different pantheons are placed symmetrically on both sides of the aisle.

Of the whole cemetery, the highlight is a circular pergola facing Montseny mountain, the circular well made of blocks of granite with a pulley, and a hearse.

The Municipal Cemetery of Cardedeu, considered Noucentista style with some Art Nouveau elements, was conceived as an orderly space with a series of constituent elements typical of the architecture.
