In 1939 Pau Casals began a series of concerts to raise funds for Catalan and Spanish refugees in exile, which he later extended to help the victims of the Second World War. This programme for a charity concert to raise funds for the Red Cross and others kept in the document collection testify to Pau Casals’ efforts and commitment to the cause during those years.
