Bear tooth handle. Ca n’Oliver Iberian Settlement and Museum.

This is the canine tooth of a bear that was shaped into the handle for some kind of tool, perhaps a knife. This tooth is evidence of an environment in which human activities coexisted with abundant wildlife. Bears, deer, roe deer, wolves, badgers, etc. populated this region of alternating forests and clearings. Many of these species have now disappeared from the area.
