Despite the fact that the Iberian economy was not fully monetised and was still governed by barter and redistribution of exchanged goods, in the late Iberian period the presence of coins began to increase in Iberian sites. On this silver coin or denarius, minted in Rome or Carthage and found at Ca n’Oliver, the Numidian king Juba is represented on the front and, on the back, a temple.
