These light bulbs show the evolution of electrical technology over time. Thomas Edison, the inventor of the incandescent light bulb, registered the first patent for it in 1880. The bulb’s power was measured in watts. There are different parts: the cap, the contact wires, the tungsten filament which burns to give the light, and the glass bulb itself.

Nowadays incandescent light bulbs are steadily being replaced by LED lamps, whose power consumption is somewhere between 7 and 23 W, while traditional light bulbs would use between 40 and 100 W to give the same amount of light.
