The barretina, a kind of floppy hat, was traditionally worn by Catalan men. There are various kinds, but the two most usual colours are red and purple. It can be worn in several ways. The ones on display at the Museu Etnogràfic de Ripoll adorn the heads of busts of Ignasi Buxó i Gou (1860-1944).
