An example of a more traditional type of figurehead, which used to adorn the corvette Blanca Aurora, built in 1848 in the Lloret de Mar shipyards of Agustí Pujol. It was sculpted by Francesc Pascual Granés, and it is a portrait of Maria Parés, daughter of the captain and owner Silvestre Parés, who died young. In 1883 the figurehead returned to Lloret from Rio de Janeiro and the original was placed in the Barcelona Maritime Museum during the civil war, where it is still kept today. The item on display in Lloret Maritime Museum is a worthy reproduction.
