HAG, Swiss manufacturer of miniature trains noted for their robustness and prized by collectors, specialized in H0-scale Swiss trains. H0 is the most widespread scale, which corresponds to 1/87 with a track width of 16.5 mm.
This 1989 electric locomotive is an example. It is a perfect copy of the Re 4/4 (no. 162) from the company operating the Swiss BLS (Bern-Lötschberg-Simplon) railway infrastructure, the line that connects Italy with Switzerland. In service in 1964, the Re 4/4 locomotive pulled both express and heavy goods trains and could travel at a maximum speed of 140 km/h.
