This is a decorative painting that aspires only to adorn a room. Pere Viver divided his time between easel painting and decorating, working with his brother Tomàs in the profession they inherited from their father.

The painting shows a garden scene, with a stone fountain, garlands held by cupids, a classical-type temple and three semi-naked graces bearing a basket of flowers. The work is highly representative of popularisation of the symbolist style which endured well into the mid-20th century, becoming more markedly banal in the domestic environment.
