The ethnographic collection is a very important and comprehensive one, with craft collections linked to the city’s pre-industrial economy (tanning, agriculture, wine skins, silversmiths) and objects related with everyday life in the past, domestic items, professional tools, techniques and clothing. Among these collections we should mention those related with agriculture, cattle farming, pre-industrial crafts (silver, tanners, saddlers, shoemakers and makers of espardenyes, smiths, carpenters, printers and book binders, tinsmiths, potters and weavers), with complete collections of special tools and implements, as well as guild objects and documents; beliefs and religious experiences, social life and festivities, domestic life (furniture, devotional artefacts, home furnishings, clothes, etc.). There is an important collection of earthenware and ceramics made in the city.
This collection can help to explain historical periods in which Reus was the second most important city in Catalonia. There are collections connected with a range of offices and the life of the guilds within the city: liquor, tools and implements from different skills, devotional artefacts, manuscript and graphic documents, examples of different textiles and trades carried out in the city, etc.
