The reeling machine is a measuring device used to make rolls of thread of a given length with which the thickness of the thread is measured by the ratio between the length and the weight. When manufacturing knit fabric, it is very important to determine the different characteristics of the thread in order to evaluate its suitability depending on the application for which it is to be used. Knit fabric factories often included a laboratory where parameters like the thickness, type of torsion and mechanical resistance of the thread which were to be used to make each piece of clothing were evaluated.
