Since 1995, dovetailing with the disappearance of many industries that manufactured knit fabrics, the Jaume Vilaseca Foundation of Mataró has made a major effort to recover the history and heritage related to the knit fabric industry in Catalonia. The collections, which are displayed in this exhibition, are a sample of the holdings that the Foundation has recovered and given to the city. The collection encompasses more than 6,000 objects of different kinds and different heritage values, including industrial machinery, clothing, furniture, fine arts, advertising, images and documents.
