This is an industrial wooden stand with eight points for sewing machines, a central lower space where the fabric could be run and a lower central shaft where the energy supply came from.

In knit fabric factories, the people who were in charge of sewing the pieces worked on this kind of stand, which was located in a place away from the rest of the factory but closely connected to the loom area. In order to work on the sewing stand, it was essential to coordinate the working processes among the line of sewers, to have good lighting and to be able to concentrate fully.
