Containers in which the fibres are placed as they come out of the spinning machines so that they can be transported to the machines, where the thread manufacturing process continues. Cotton has been the textile fibre par excellence since the 19th century, when it displaced flax and wool. Cotton is hygienic, elastic and suitable for hosiery and underwear for consumers. It adapts extraordinarily well to producers’ mechanical processes and easily absorbs dyes and colour.
