Bust of Charles V (copy), Leone Leoni and his son Pompeo Leoni, c. 1553, bronze. Palau de Maricel.

This bronze bust is a copy from the Artistic Reproductions Museum, signed by Viopom Peparep F. The original, by Leone Leoni and his son Pompeo Leoni, is at the Prado Museum. Both specialised in portraits of monarchs and members of the royal family. It was executed in cast bronze c. 1553. The suit of armour is the one he wore at the battle of Mühlberg, as also depicted in the portrait by Titian. The base consists of two figures that flank the eagle of the House of Hapsburg.
