These dishes from Solibernat are typical of the kind of ceramics brides would have brought with them in their trousseaus to their new homes in rural areas that were part of the Muslim dominions of Al-Andalus in the first half of the 12th century. Some of the pieces have the characteristic decorations on their outsides that were made with manganese oxide, and can be assumed to have been for use at the table. Others of them would have been used for cooking and for storing food.
