This large jar from the dig at Genó (Aitona) was of the kind used for storing many different kinds of foods and liquids. The chemical analyses carried out on this jar established that barley had been fermented in it, most likely in the process of brewing beer. The site at Genó is the third oldest in the Iberian peninsula where prehistoric beer production has been documented.
