The Romanesque image of Christ on the cross in Perves, which dates from the 13th century, has become one of the most emblematic works from the Lerida Museum’s medieval sculpture collection. In its overall conception it uses the characteristic style of the Erill studio, while fairly faithfully reproducing those of the Fallen Christ of Erill la Vall.

In iconographic terms, the Christ of Perves brings original and innovative formulae not habitual in Romanesque art, such as the blood surging from the right hand side of the image. This solution is also found in the Christ of Manyanet, with which it shares some formal solutions.
