The falcata from the Pedrera necropolis, which dates back to the 5th or 4th century BC, is believed to have been imported from the southeast of the peninsula and is counted among the half-dozen largest falcatas preserved. Its appearance in the Pedrera is a rarity, as these kinds of weapons are not usual north of the Ebro river. This has spurred thought on contacts between the Iler caudillos and important figures from the southern peninsula. In this sense, it is very possible that it was part of a warrior’s tomb.
