Ancient satyr head related to the following of Dionysus. These kinds of images arose in Hellenistic times (especially in Pergamon from the 3rd century BC onwards), but the Roman aristocracy used them widely to decorate their residences, and especially the gardens and peristyles.

The fact that the rear is unworked proves that it must have been a herma that fitted into another piece, possibly a bust or pilaster, or that it was used as a decorative accessory on a fountain. It dates from the 2nd century AD and possibly comes from the area of Tarragona.
