Flying shuttle

The flying shuttle was a spinning element that transformed work and significantly increased production on the looms of textile factories. The weft of the fabric was gradually created with the aid of the shuttle as it moved back and forth in a lane that went from one side of the piece to be woven to the other.

It was an item that many women in the Colony knew to perfection, given that from a very early age they would go down to work from above Sant Corneli as far as Sant Salvador de la Vedella in the Carme Colony, an industrial plant owned by José Enrique de Olano.
