Conveyor belt

The methods of transporting coal evolved over the years, from the initial manual loading into baskets on the miners' backs to the comprehensive mechanisation that came with conveyor belts.

This belt was used to transport the coal along the gallery of one of the mines operated by Carbones de Berga SA. The belt was made from a rubber canvas that moved through rotating cylinders supplying the movement required to transport large amounts of coal to the mine entrance.
