This machine was built by the company J. Trepat, located in Tàrrega, which was the leading farm machinery manufacturer during the second third of the 20th century.
Its mechanism is simple, yet it brought about a veritable revolution in wheat harvesting, since instead of having to do the toilsome work with the sickle or scythe, the farmer was seated on a machine pulled by an animal.
There were very few of these machines until they became widespread in the 1950s.
