Earthenware container, whose mouth presents four semicircular openings: at the bottom there is an Arabic inscription “al-badr”, meaning “the seed”. The piece was fired in the Pla d’Almatà ovens during the second half of the 11th century. A present-day equivalent, a recipient with similar features, is still used in some rural areas of North Africa to bake a kind of bread.
