Fragment of a basil planter, which shows metallic reflections on the coat of arms of Pere II, Count of Urgell, encircled by geometric and plant motifs, with tendrils, little spirals and parallel lines, knots with four and five eyes, and entwined trefoils. A planter for basil was an object of the greatest luxury, since basil itself was so rare that not many such pieces are known. This one was commissioned by the counts of Urgell from the ceramic workshops of Manises-Paterna.
