The instruments played in the musical ensemble known as a cobla, which accompanies the sardana, a traditional Catalan folk dance, are the heirs to many traditions, that received a considerable impetus around 1850 with the incorporation of the tenora, a kind of oboe, as a result of the collaboration between the musician Pep Ventura and the builder, Andreu Toron.
