This piano belonged to composer Frederic Mompou from Barcelona. In 1915, shortly after returning from his first stay in Paris, he leased a piano from the Chassaigne Frères Company in Barcelona. The composer quite possibly wrote his first songs and piano pieces on this very instrument, donated to the Museum in 2002 by his widow, the pianist and teacher Carme Bravo.
