And, across the sea, we enter the second part of the Museum of the Mediterranean, where we discover the nature of the territory with a view spreading out towards the Mediterranean. Here we can see the various types of landscapes in the El Montgrí and Baix Ter areas: the Medes Islands, the plain, the river, the Montgrí massif and the wetlands. They are regarded as elements that belong to the Mediterranean cultural landscape.
A large-scale bird’s-eye view of the land reveals the most rugged parts of the coast and the most secluded parts of the plain. An area in which to discover the most important natural values of our territory, thanks to which the Natural Park of El Montgrí, the Medes Islands and Baix Ter was instituted. In this exhibition space the sound of the sea, the wind and the rain, the smells of the mountain and the birdsong will accompany us. Here you may discover how storms affect the coast, the flora and fauna characteristic of the area, what the final stretch of the river Ter is like and how the exceptional continental dunes of El Montgrí came into being. We shall travel over an exceptional natural territory.
