The tible (a Catalan wind instrument) emerged in the mid-19th century as a development of the traditional tarota, one of the basic instruments of the old cobla de tres quartans (a group made up of 3 musicians). The tible belongs to the xeremia family of wind instrucments. Today  it consists of three pieces, generally made of jujube, a fairly rare Mediterranean shrub (one grows in the museum patio). It is one of the most characteristic instruments of the cobla by virtue of its sharp, penetrating sound, very suitable for a soloists. The cobla features two tible players in the first row, alongside the rest of the woodwind instruments.
