A chest decorated with Gothic-style plant motif engravings. The handles show decoration characteristic of the 15th century. The style and decorations of this container allow us to situate it in around the 15th-16th centuries, as it shows numerous similarities with other Spanish-made objects from the period of the Catholic Kings.
The dimensions of the known specimens of this kind of chest vary very little; we know from the ordinances of the “Chest makers of Toledo” that they were obliged to attach two handles when the chests exceeded a certain length corresponding to a Castilian ‘vara’ (around 86 cm).
