Influenced by the previous work of Josep Esquirol, who he considered a master, Joan Lassís (1901-1996) also documented numerous facets of L'Escala, particularly landscape photography. He captured the quaintness of the boats in the harbour, everyday life and urban changes. The archives hold over 15,000 negatives by John Lassús, which contribute to the documentation of the history of L'Escala, from the Civil War through to the early days of tourism and until his death.
