Fragment from the neck of a wine amphora of the Dressel 1a type, of Italian origin. It has a consular mark painted on it: ’Q.FAB […] COS’, which corresponds to the Consul Quintus Fabius Maximus Allobrogicus, dated 121 BC. This item was found in a very homogeneous  archaeological stratum consisting of amphorae for wine and oil, most of which from the Italian Peninsula, wide-mouthed Iberian amphorae and painted ceramics from Campania and Iberia. This stratum would have formed part of a set of graves related to the earliest times of the city. The consular records set the date of the founding of Iesso as the year 100 BC.
