The Museu Blau is in the Fòrum Park. It was built by the architects Herzog & de Meuron in 2004. Located near the sea and the Besòs River, since March 2011 it has become an open, dynamic place that is representative and useful in the context of today's environmental controversy.
It occupies 9,000 m² distributed in two floors with modern installations and services for all kinds of public which are built around a huge open access hall which is the starting point and departure point for all the programmes and services offered by the Museum: the reference exhibition "Planet Life", the areas for the temporary exhibitions, the Media Library, the Science Nest for children aged 0-6, the classrooms, the events hall, the workshops and the shop.
