The peculiar shape of this container, like an inverted bell, is an identifying trait of this culture which extended across the European continent, is associated with the earliest metal work and reached its high point in the third millennium BC.

The pot was found among grave goods and may have contained some food or a liquid. It was a cave burial with the remains of two individuals buried together, placed in foetal positions facing the interior of the cave.
