This is a common type of vessel which imitates an original Greek model. It is nearly always painted and found in a great variety of sizes and decorations.

It has a cylindrical body, with a flat side at the top and two plaited handles attached to the sides. It is painted in a burgundy colour distributed in two bands with plant motifs separated by lines of different thickness. The top features a ‘dog’s–tooth’ pattern.

It may have served a practical purpose (for storage or transport) or been used as a ceremonial vessel.
